2020 NorCal Sales Team Announced!

As we enter a new paddling season, Cali Paddler remains committed to having our booths be a place of great energy, camaraderie and of course epic products. And there is nothing more important that the face that greets you when you arrive. We put a lot of time and thought into these roles, and are very excited to announce that in Northern California we will now have two smiling paddlers to represent us as as many events as we can attend. Please take a moment to meet them here and learn about the roles they will be playing!

Also it goes without saying that we would never have even been in a position to continue having dedicated NorCal reps if we had not been graced with the amazing Justin Chi. Justin has been the face for us the last several years and we owe so much to him. From interviewing youth paddlers across the bay area who represent the next generation, to setting up the booth in every weather condition and all hours of the day. Justin is refocusing his time to ensure his career and persona life thrive to new amazing levels, but we still look forward to him showing up, paddling and hanging out as much as possible. Thank you Justin!

Our new family additions...

Cathie Bown (NorCal Sales Team Lead)

Cathie was introduced to outrigger paddling in 2016 on Lake Natoma and has been stoked ever since! She has competed and medal-ed in many of the NCOCA races with her Capital Outrigger teammates and recently acquired an OC1 to continue her training.  "I love the adventure, the camaraderie, the whole body workout and the mental discipline this sport brings to my life.  I love to talk about paddling and am excited to meet new paddlers!"

We have known Cathie for several years now and are so grateful for it. She will be our lead sales rep for the Northern California region, where she will be coordinating with event vendors, introducing the newest paddle attire to the community, and helping us fulfill local and online orders.

Daven Ng (NorCal Booth Rockstar)

We were first introduced to Daven as part of our Youth Spotlight in 2018 and he has continued his climb of paddle community awesomeness. Daven has been been paddling for 5 years having started in dragon boat, spending countless hours training out of Lake Merced, San Francisco with his high school team: Galileo Celestial Dragons. "I've always been a competitive person who loves a good challenge. This pushed me towards finding new ways to develop my paddling and become a more versatile athlete. Since then, I've been training with Okalani Outrigger Canoe Club in Alameda for the past year. I'm really fortunate to have been introduced to paddling at such a young age. As I was growing up, I lacked the hand-eye coordination to play conventional ball sports like basketball or football. Finding a sport that started on the same playing field as everyone else made me feel included and motivated to be the best paddler that I could be. Right now, I am a full-time student at DVC in Pleasant Hill. This is my first year in college and my goal is to transfer into a UC in the next year. Paddling has taken a very special place in my heart, and I know that whatever I do in life, I want to make time for this passion of mine. I can't wait to meet you all personally on and off the water!"

Daven will be working on event days at the Cali Paddler booth making sure your questions are answered, and you leave with a smile.

Welcome aboard Cathie and Daven!
