Paddler Resources
It is our hope that every paddler enjoys their time on the water. From a social aspect to a safety one. Below are several items that can help us come back with smiles each time.
PADDLER FLOAT PLAN - If you are paddling alone, or even as a group it is encouraged to have a float plan. This easy to complete document is based on the US Coast Guard official float plan (view), but is edited to be relevant to paddlers. List your personal info, your craft, your itinerary and emergency contact info. One complete, leave with someone you trust, or post it to a designated place/forum so others can make sure you are back in the expected time-frame.
Tips:
- Bring a copy of the float plan with you on paddles as well as identification and important medial info.
- Open in standalone Adobe Acrobat application vs web browser to enter text digitally as a form.
- Save a copy or print out several copies with standard fields filled out (personal info etc.) so that it is quicker to complete each time and making it more likely you do it.
